Import and Register ImageImport and Register Image

(This functionality is available with the Background Images module)
(Not available in LISCAD Lite)

Used to select which raster image file is to be registered and imported into LISCAD as a background image. This dialog box is also used to assign a name to the resultant transformed registered image. After selecting the image and assigning a name, the image will be opened in the Image Registrar Window and the Image Registration Dialog will open.

Note that if the image has an associated World file, then it is automatically registered when the Image Registrar Window opens.

The Registration / Import and Register Image command is selected from the Background Images task.

Item Used to
Look in: Select the folder in which the image file is located.
File Name: Key in or select the name of the existing image file to be opened into the image registration window from the list of displayed files.
Files of type: Select which type of image files are to be displayed in the file list. By default this is set to "All Image File" types. Alternatively you can specifically select from the following image file types: BMP, DIB, RLE, JPG, JPEG, JPE, JFIF, GIF, TIF, TIFF, PNG, ECW, MrSID, GeoTIFF.
Image Name: Enter a name of up to 32 characters that the registered image is to be identified as within the SEE database. This name must be unique for every image imported into the current database. By default the name of the image being imported is copied into this field.
Image on Web Mercator Projection Select that the image is on a Web Mercator projection.
Transformation Select the appropriate transformation to transform the image from the web mercator projection to the projection of the project. You can create the required transformation using Utilities/Configure/Projections/Manage Transformations.
OK: Reads the selected image file and displays it in the Image Registrar Window ready to enter the control points to enable the image to be registered.
Cancel: Close the dialog box without importing an image or going to the image registration window.
