Downsample Scan PointDownsample Scan

(This functionality is available with the Point Cloud module)

Allows a selected scan  to be downsampled to a new scan by filtering the scan points to a specified minimum separation.

Item Used to
Current Scan Name Select an existing scan to be downsampled to the new scan.
New Scan Name Enter in a new scan name for the new downsampled scan.
Grid Size Enter the grid size. This defines the minimum separation between resulting points in the downsampled scan.
Apply Downsample the selected scan to the nominated new scan. The process creates a 3D voxel grid over the cloud and in each voxel, all points present are reduced to their centroid. The greater the grid size, the greater the degree of downsampling
