LISTECH Enhances LISCAD for 2020 Release
LISCAD 2020 is now available.
We are pleased to announce the 2020 release of our LISCAD Surveying and Engineering software. This latest release includes numerous features, improvements and engineering fixes that make LISCAD even better. Some of these enhancements include:
Examine Bearing & Distance
The Examine Bearing & Distance command has been enhanced to also include values for the vertical angle, difference in elevation and slope distance between the selected points. This additional information provides an understanding of the three dimensional relationship between the points.
Polygon Area Check Report
The Polygon Area Check report now also includes the total and average areas of the polygons based on their code. This additional information is useful for subdivision design reporting purposes where certain authorities require this information for approval.
Line Comparison Report
A new Line Comparison by Line report has been added to enable the automated detection of lines that are too close to each other based on user specified values. This feature is great for compliance checking, for example, to check that the minimum separation requirements between sewer and water pipes has been maintained.
LandXML Railway Cant Support
The LandXML import has been enhanced to support the import of railway Cant values. The imported Cant values are used to determine the elevations along the secondary alignment representing the railway track.
Asymmetric Parabola Support
The creation, import, and export of asymmetric parabolic vertical curves is now supported. When designing vertical curves, it is sometimes useful to specify differing curve lengths for the inbound and outbound side of a dip or crest, in an effort to closely approximate the existing surface.
Crossfall Grade Values
In Cross Section view, the display and reporting of crossfall grades has been changed so that the value represents the grade relative to the centreline of the cross section. This change was made to adopt the industry standard for the display of crossfalls.
Manual Setout Report
The Manual Setout command has been enhanced to optionally include values for the zenith angle and slope distance to the point to be setout. This additional information is useful in steep terrain where the slope distance often provides a better measure of the approximate location of the point.
Leica DBX Geoid Models
During the Field File reduction of a Leica DBX based job, the geoid model used to compute orthometric heights is now reported. This additional information is important for quality assurance purposes because it enables easy verification that the correct geoid model has been used.
CAD Masked Text
In CAD, the masked text functionality has been enhanced to allow setting in both directions, the amount of masking around the text. This enhancement is ideal for when a different amount of whitespace is required before and after the text, as compared to above and below the text.
CAD Layer Handling
The layer handling in CAD has been enhanced to allow the turning off of active layers. This improvement results in a streamlined workflow because attribute settings no longer need to be changed to layers that will remain turned on.
Getting LISCAD 2020
LISCAD licences that are on LISTECH Cover or have a Leica Geosystems Customer Care Package (CCP) with an expiry date of 1 January 2020 or later, can download, install and run LISCAD 2020 via the downloads section of the LISCAD product page.

Note: Installing LISCAD 2020 will replace LISCAD 2018 / 2019 if either of these versions are installed on the computer.
