June 2020 Release of LISTECH Neo

LISTECH Neo latest release is now available.

We are pleased to announce the June 2020 release of LISTECH Neo, the next generation surveying, engineering and geospatial software. This release includes numerous new features, improvements to existing functionality, and engineering fixes to make Neo even better. Some of these enhancements include:

User Coordinate System (UCS)

User Coordinate Systems

The new User Coordinate System (UCS) functionality enables you to define a 3D user coordinate system by selecting vertices in the Model View that define the origin, x-axis and XY plane of the coordinate system. When a UCS is active, Neo will operate as if the project coordinates are relative to that user defined reference frame.

Floating Context Menu

Floating Context Menu

A new Floating Context Menu is available and is accessed by clicking the right mouse button in the Model View. This floating menu can contain user specified commands, recently used commands, and context sensitive commands relevant to the currently active tool. This should greatly improve your productivity by minimising mouse moves.

Enter Key Behaviour

Enter Key Behaviour Change

The behaviour of the Enter key has been changed to accept all input and execute the default button in the currently active Create, Modify, Examine or Find tool window. This dramatically improves your productivity during data entry by not having to move the mouse pointer and click the button to execute a command.

KML and KMZ Exports

KML and KMZ Exports

The KML and KMZ exports have been enhanced to support multiple instances of the same attribute, allow the setting of the size for images, control whether geographic coordinates, grid coordinates and orthometric heights are to be included, as well as the ability to include your company logo.

AutoCAD Colour Mapping

AutoCAD Colour Mapping

The existing AutoCAD export functionality has been enhanced to map RGB colour values of Neo objects to AutoCAD known colours or palette index values when possible. This results in better compatibility when exchanging data with AutoCAD.

Esri Geodatabase Multipatch

Esri Geodatabase Multipatch

The existing Esri Geodatabase export has been enhanced to output Neo Shape (Extruded Profile) objects as Esri multipatch features. This enables a more comprehensive exchange with Esri products and other compatible GIS software.

Coordinate System Import via WKT

Coordinate System Import via WKT

Support for Well Known Text (WKT) format files enables projected coordinate systems published in the WKT format to be imported into Neo for use in your projects without the risk associated with entering the parameters manually. Coordinate system definitions published in WTK format are provided by numerous organisations including EPSG.

Mirroring Objects

Mirroring Objects

The new Mirror objects command allows objects to be mirrored by defining a reference line (2D) or a reference plane (3D) about which the selected objects are to be mirrored. The command provides options to move or copy the selected objects and to copy associated attributes.

Multiple Attribute Instances in Reports

Multiple Attribute Instances in Reports

The existing Attribute Reports have been enhanced to include support for multiple instances of the same attribute associated with an object. A typical use case for this is when multiple photographs have been taken and associated with a point in the field.

Create Point by Segment Distance

Create Point by Segment Distance

The new Create point by segment distance command enables you to pick an existing line object or define a reference line, and specify the distance interval and offset at which the new points are to be created. This is great for creating points along linear objects for use during stakeout.

Extend or Trim

Extend or Trim

The existing Extend or Trim command has been enhanced to allow the extension and trimming of lines where the intersection does not physically lie on the line. This enhancement allows the command to be used for a number of new scenarios not previously possible.

Leica DBX Check Point App Results

Leica DBX Check Point App Results

The Leica DBX import has been enhancement to include support for check measurement results logged when using the Leica Check Point app onboard the instrument. This allows the check measurement results to be imported as measurements providing improved Quality Assurance (QA) workflows.

SG LandXML Export

SG LandXML Export

The SG LandXML export has been enhanced to include levelling measurements for submissions containing subterranean and airspace lots. A number of changes have also been made to ensure Neo supports the latest requirements for digital cadastral submissions as specified by the Singapore Land Authority (SLA).

Using Controls Tutorial

Using Controls Tutorial

A new Using Controls tutorial has been added to the tutorials library. This tutorial guides you through interacting with different types of controls used throughout Neo’s user interface.
