December 2020 Release of LISTECH Neo
LISTECH Neo latest release is now available.
We are pleased to announce the December 2020 release of LISTECH Neo, the next generation surveying, engineering and geospatial software. This release includes a number of major new features, improvements to existing functionality, and engineering fixes to make Neo even better. Some of these enhancements include:
Pipes
A new Shape (Pipe) object that represents a pipe is now supported. Pipe objects can have configurable bend types and start / end cap types. New and updated Modify tools allow you to break and join pipes, insert and remove vertices in a pipe, convert lines to pipes and pipes to lines etc. This new object type greatly enhances visualisation of subsurface pipe features like those frequently detected using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR).
Network Licensing
The next generation of network licensing allows seats to be leased over a local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), or the Internet. Seats from a network licence can be checked out for offline use, allowing you to use Neo in locations where a network connection is not available. This new network licensing enables you to optimise the use of your Neo licences, whether you have multiple users in a single office, multiple offices, remote users, or any combination of these.
Control Codes
The much requested feature of Control Codes has been implemented in this release. With support for Leica, Trimble, Topcon and Sokkia SDR instruments, the new functionality has Control Codes for creating straight, rectangle, arc, circle, and spline objects, creating sized and oriented plan symbols, creating steps (stairs), parallel lines and subsurface features like pipes and pipe configurations.
Create by Bearing and Distance
The existing Create by Radiation and Create by Traversing commands have been combined into a single Create by Bearing and Distance command. This new combined Create by Bearing and Distance command not only reduces the number of mouse clicks required to switch between the two methods, it provides an optimised workflow and enables the standardisation of the naming of Create commands.
NearMap WMS
Although Neo already includes support for rendering Web Map Service (WMS) images via the Image Services command, we have now implemented support for an early version (v1.1.1) of the WMS standard. This has been done to provide compatibility with NearMap and their GDA2020 referenced WMS image service that utilises this old version.
Topcon Code Library XML
The ability to export in Topcon Code Library XML format has been implemented. This new feature enables codelists suitable for use with the Topcon MAGNET Field software to be created directly from within Neo. This new command includes support for exporting feature codes and their associated attributes, as well for exporting the new Control Codes.
Create Point by Existing Vertex
A new option has been added to the Create Point by Existing Vertex command that allows newly created points to adopt the layer of the object the vertex is associated with. This was a hotly requested feature by those doing point preparation for stakeout.
Customise a Template Tutorial
A new Customise a Template tutorial has been added to the inbuilt Neo tutorials library. This new tutorial guides you through the basics of creating and customising a template so that you will understand how to create your own templates to suit your requirements.
